Edmonton, Alberta (March 21, 2021) – PCL Construction is pleased to announce that vice president and project director Alan Kuysters has been honored by the Edmonton Construction Association (ECA) with the prestigious Claude Alston Award.

This award is the ECA’s highest honour, given in recognition of an individual’s distinguished contribution to the Edmonton construction community. Alston, a General Contractor, was one of the association’s greatest contributors, serving as its President from 1947 to 1949, at which time he retired from Poole Construction Limited.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized by the ECA with this award. Edmonton’s historic construction accomplishments over the years never cease to amaze,“ said Kuysters. “It’s been a privilege to be able to work with so many great people in the industry over the years, both in learning and mentoring roles.”

Alan has worked for PCL for the past 38 years with more than 14 years based in Alberta’s capital city. He started his PCL career in Calgary progressing through roles in both field and project management. In 2004 he transferred to the Edmonton Buildings district as operations manager and from 2008 – 2018 he led the team as district manager. He is currently leading the Los Angeles International Airport Consolidated Rent-A-Car project for PCL.

The ECA selected Alan as their 2021 recipient in recognition of his outstanding service and contribution to the Edmonton construction industry and his extraordinary leadership. The award was presented to Alan at the association’s annual Business Connect Luncheon. This event brings together over 400 member leaders to network and celebrate the previous year’s successes.

Congratulations, Alan!
