Edmonton, Alberta (May 29, 2024) – PCL Construction congratulates its President & CEO, Dave Filipchuk for being elected as one of 54 new Fellows into The Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE). Fellows of the CAE are nominated and elected by their peers (current CAE Fellows) in view of their distinguished achievements and career-long service.  Fellows are recognized for professional integrity as well as for engineering accomplishments. 

The CAE comprises over 800 Fellows who have made outstanding contributions to engineering in Canada and around the world. They have demonstrated their dedication to applying science and engineering principles to advance social, environmental, economic and technical solutions, while serving as role models in their fields and their communities. Fellows have distinguished themselves in different sectors, including business, academia and government, and in different roles such as business management, executive management and university faculty.

I am grateful to be part of the engineering profession that is so committed to innovation and excellence in delivering critical needs for our country,” said Filipchuk. “I receive this recognition as not only a personal achievement, but more importantly as a reflection of the incredible work and dedication of our entire team at PCL Construction. Fellows are committed to ensuring that Canada’s engineering expertise and experience are applied for the benefit of all Canadians. Filipchuk is active with the Business + Higher Education Roundtable and the Business Councils of Canada and Alberta. He was recently named the Canadian Construction Association’s Pinnacle Leader and received the 2023 Canadian Business Leader Award. He has received a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee medal and numerous community giving awards over his 40 years with PCL.

An induction ceremony for the new Fellows was held in London, Ontario on May 28^th.
