Ottawa, ON (September 9, 2024) – PCL Construction is pleased to announce that Mathew Baranowski has been promoted to district manager for its Ottawa office overseeing district operations throughout the Ottawa region.

Mathew joined PCL as a field engineer in Winnipeg in 2010, then progressed to project manager. In 2020, he moved to the Edmonton office as manager, Special Projects. In 2022, Mathew was promoted to operations manager for BC Region.

"Joining a team of trailblazers in Ottawa’s construction industry is a dream come true,” said Baranowski. “Together, we'll push boundaries and elevate our Ottawa and area projects to new standards of excellence, and continue building a better future, together."

In 2021, Mathew was named to On-Site Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 in Canadian Construction list.

Mathew earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Manitoba. He is a LEED Green Associate and a professional engineer through the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba.

Mathew succeeds Geoff Howe, recently promoted to senior vice president and district manager for Toronto, and joins Paul Knowles, Ottawa senior vice president and district manager to co-lead the district.
