PCL Construction is excited and honored to be named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for 2022.

At PCL, our team of dedicated employee-owners strives to leave legacies in the communities in which we work. Our impact on the environment is the greatest legacy we’ll leave to future generations. We’ve worked hard over recent years to ensure we make a positive and lasting difference by diverting construction waste from landfills and building sustainable projects including mass timber structures and renewable energy projects.

“Being named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers is a huge accomplishment for PCL. It validates all the environmentally conscious work we’ve done to this point, and it motivates us to do more,” says Mike Wieninger, chief operating officer, Canadian operations. “Like operational excellence, safety and quality, we want sustainable construction practices to be ingrained in our people and everything we do.”

We’ve worked with project partners to achieve waste diversion rates of over 90%. We’ve established a network of Sustainable Construction Advisors at our offices across Canada, and we have over 260 LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified staff guiding projects from start to finish.

Canada’s Greenest Employers is a competition organized by the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, a national competition to determine which employers lead their industries in offering the best workplaces for their employees. PCL is also proud to have been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People.

The 2022 list of Canada’s Greenest Employers is published in an online feature on the Globe and Mail’s website and on Eluta.ca.
