Edmonton, Alberta (October 8, 2025) – PCL Construction is proud to announce that its Second Annual Charity Golf Tournament, “Tee Off Against Hunger,” was another resounding success. Held at The Quarry Edmonton on September 25th and with the support of more than 126 sponsors, 216 golfers, and a dedicated team of volunteers, the event raised an incredible $250,000 in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank.

“This tournament is about coming together as a community to make a real difference,” said Jason Portas, Vice President and District Manager at PCL Edmonton. “We are incredibly grateful to our industry partners, clients, and friends who showed up with generosity and heart. Their support helps ensure that families in our city have access to the food and resources they need.”

The tournament’s success was made possible by the tireless efforts of the organizing committee, volunteers, and sponsors, many of whom have deep roots in the Edmonton community. Their shared commitment to giving back reflects the absolute best of what PCL stands for: building up the communities we live, work and play.

“Attending events like this always humbles me, as they raise not only awareness but also the funds that make our work possible. I had an idea of what the donation might be, but the magnitude of the final announcement left me overwhelmed,” said Tamisan Bencz-Knight, Manager of Strategic Relationships & Partnerships with Edmonton’s Food Bank.

“This tournament was an incredible opportunity to connect with friends and our trade partners, all while supporting an important cause. It’s always inspiring to see our industry connect with the community to make a real impact. JATEC is proud to take part in such a great event,” said Marco Almeida, Chief Business Operations Officer with JATEC Electric, the tournament’s Distinguished Donor.

Proceeds from the tournament will go directly to Edmonton’s Food Bank, which continues to serve over 40,000 households each month. As demand for food support grows, events like this play a vital role in sustaining essential services for those in need.

Our PCL team extends our heartfelt thanks to every sponsor, golfer, volunteer, and supporter who helped make this year’s tournament a celebration of community, relationships, and fun.
