Edmonton, Alberta (April 22, 2025) – PCL Construction is honoured to announce that we’ve once again been named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers, marking the fourth straight year we’ve made this important and prestigious list.
With more than 325 LEED-certified staff members and more than 260 LEED-certified projects completed at a value of over $20 billion, PCL has the experience and expertise needed to meet the growing demand for sustainable, net-zero and decarbonization projects. Our in-house specialists think beyond the basics of project delivery and find innovative solutions to deliver unsurpassed value, efficiency and sustainability. Our employees have the chance to do meaningful work and grow their careers while tackling climate change head-on.
“From low-carbon procurement and mass timber construction to building retrofits and clean energy projects, PCL is truly building a better, greener future,” said Anton Pojasok, PCL’s director of sustainability. “We know that everything we do has an impact, both today and for generations to come. We’re committed to taking strong action to protect the environment, change the construction industry for the better and keep our planet healthy.”
In 2024, PCL published our latest Sustainability Report, which highlights our progress, commitments and roadmap for sustainable practices as we work toward reaching net-zero emissions by 2050. We also established our baseline greenhouse gas emissions in 2024, giving us a snapshot of where we are now and how to get where we want to go. And we completed a Materiality Assessment, which allowed our employees to voice their opinions on the environmental, social and governance topics that are important to them.
PCL also has several active projects involving the retrofitting and decarbonizing of existing buildings. Our experts guide clients all the way from the initial planning stages through to the delivery of these complex projects. In fact, our decarbonization project at the Fairmont Royal York hotel in Toronto recently won an Environmental Achievement Award from the Canadian Construction Association.
