Edmonton, Alberta (January 18, 2022) – For the third year in a row, PCL Construction has been named one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People. It’s an award that we’re honored and excited to receive.
PCL is dedicated to fostering a culture where young employees can play key roles on exciting construction projects and take advantage of significant professional development opportunities, including mentorship programs, right from the get-go. Being named a Top Employer for Young People once again is a testament to the collective effort of our teams to develop the next generation of construction leaders.
“Employees at PCL have the chance to contribute to the company’s success starting on day one,” said Mike Olsson, vice president, learning and leadership development. “That rings true for both recent graduates and for close to 500 participants in our student program each year, many of whom will be offered full-time employment. It’s a great way to both connect with and learn from, the next generation of construction leaders.
“Together, we’re building better futures for our employees, our clients and our company.”
One of those young employees whose future looks bright is Rupert Sison, a project coordinator with PCL’s Edmonton Industrial Management group. After four co-op placements over 20 months at PCL, he was hired on full-time in 2016. Since then, he has come to appreciate PCL’s emphasis on safety and supporting employees.
