Edmonton, Alberta (April 21, 2025) – PCL Construction is proud to announce it has received two Awards of Distinction from United Way of the Alberta Capital Region at the annual Red Tie Gala, recognizing the company’s outstanding fundraising efforts in 2025. PCL’s latest United Way campaign, Carnival of Caring, raised more than $2.6 million in support of communities across the Edmonton region.
Designed to celebrate the many ways people give back, Carnival of Caring transformed the traditional workplace campaign into an engaging, three-week experience filled with interactive events, friendly competition and volunteer opportunities. The campaign emphasized that giving takes many forms — from donations and volunteering to connection, creativity and mutual support.
“Serving as campaign chair was incredibly rewarding,” said Josh Swaok, PCL campaign chair. “What stood out most wasn’t just what we raised, but the energy, creativity and genuine care PCLers brought to the campaign. Giving took many forms this year — from donating and volunteering to simply showing up for one another. I’m proud of the committee and ambassadors who made the Carnival of Caring so engaging, and grateful to everyone who participated. Together, we showed the real impact of working collectively to strengthen our communities.”
The annual Red Tie Gala celebrates the dedication and community spirit demonstrated during the previous year’s United Way campaigns, while honouring individuals and organizations whose leadership and generosity create meaningful change.
