Burlington, ON, March 31, 2023 — PCL Constructors Canada Inc. (Toronto) was recognized for its employee fundraising efforts at United Way Halton & Hamilton’s (UWHH) annual Evening of Celebration at the Burlington Convention Centre. PCL Toronto was honored with a Leading the Way Award for the third consecutive year in recognition of its leadership and commitment to community giving.

The Leading the Way Award is presented to United Way partners that emphasize leadership giving, setting the tone for an inspired workplace campaign. With its 2022 United Way committee in attendance, PCL Toronto was one of ten workplaces to receive a Leading the Way Award in honor of its dedication to displaying local love in community impact efforts.

“From building impactful projects to investing in local initiatives through the United Way, inspiring positive change in our community has always been our priority,” says Monique Buckberger, vice president and district manager of PCL Toronto and 2022 United Way campaign chair. “We are honored to receive a Leading the Way Award and thankful for the efforts of our employees in coming together to support the communities in which we live, work and play.”

In its three-week “Together. Stronger.” 2022 United Way campaign, PCL Toronto raised more than $311,000 through employee pledges, special events and PCL’s corporate donation. Employees rallied together for their local community as they competed in dodgeball, wine survivor and snack sales as part of fundraising events.
