As the Area Manager for PCL’s Denver Civil office, Jamie Safulko plays a pivotal role in driving strategic pursuits and securing new work across Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. Throughout the construction phase, she remains actively involved in projects to ensure seamless collaboration between owners and project teams. With a background in the public sector, she brings a unique perspective that helps bridge communication gaps and foster strong partnerships, enhancing project outcomes.

A certified Professional Engineer (P.E.), Safulko earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, drawn to the field by her strengths in math and physics. A pivotal course in water engineering sparked her passion for the industry, leading to a career centered around water and wastewater infrastructure, an area she finds both technically fascinating and essential to community well-being.

Before joining PCL, Safulko spent several years in the public sector, working in water infrastructure. Her transition to a general contractor was driven by a desire to gain a broader industry perspective and to help close the gap between owners and contractors. At PCL, she’s found a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, where collaboration and relationship-building are prioritized over transactional interactions.

Safulko’s passion for water and wastewater infrastructure stems from its universal importance. She’s energized by the evolving nature of the field, from emerging technologies to sustainability initiatives, and is committed to advancing solutions that serve communities.

Outside of PCL, Safulko is a dedicated advocate for the water management industry. She is the past president of the Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association and has been actively involved in the organization since 2015. She is currently focused on promoting female participation in the industry through initiatives that address the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles within the water and wastewater sector.

Through her work at PCL and her involvement in industry organizations, Safulko continues to champion collaboration, innovation and inclusivity, making a lasting impact on both the projects she supports and the people she works with.
