Jessie Farmer has always been passionate about the natural environment, particularly water preservation. After earning a degree in environmental engineering from Northern Arizona University, she sought a career that would allow her to make a real-world impact. Although construction wasn’t originally on her radar, meeting people from PCL and learning about the company’s work inspired her to pivot into the industry. She saw construction as a powerful way to address global water challenges.
Today, Farmer combines her personal and professional passions as a preconstruction engineer for PCL’s Civil Infrastructure Division, playing a pivotal role in bringing water and wastewater infrastructure projects to life. She is deeply committed to preserving and improving water resources, viewing her work as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
With experience in both estimating and project management, Farmer helps secure projects, fosters relationships with clients and engineering partners, and assists in the design process, all with a focus on constructability. Her responsibilities range from creating schedules to conducting design reviews and cost modeling, ensuring every project is set up for success.
For Farmer, PCL’s strength lies not only in its building expertise but also in its people. She values working alongside professionals who care deeply about the work and about building strong client relationships. This commitment to quality and collaboration makes PCL an exceptional place to work and a trusted partner for clients.
Farmer’s leadership extends beyond her professional role. She spearheaded the creation of a community service committee for PCL’s Denver Civil Infrastructure Division, which remains active today. Through this initiative, the team has improved public spaces in cities such as Arvada, Westminster, and Boulder, and partnered with organizations like Ralston House, which supports child and teen survivors of abuse, and Water for People, a global nonprofit addressing water scarcity.
Her passion for environmental conservation, dedication to community service, and alignment with PCL’s values make Farmer a standout contributor in the water and wastewater infrastructure sector.
