As General Superintendent for PCL’s Minneapolis district, Jon Stoeckman plays a pivotal role in the planning and execution of large, complex projects. With a strong focus on operational excellence and leadership development, he is responsible not only for delivering high-quality construction outcomes but also for mentoring and guiding field leaders as they grow in their roles.
His journey into construction was shaped early in life. Raised in a family deeply rooted in the industry, Stoeckman developed a passion for building from a young age. That passion led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management with a minor in Business from South Dakota State University.
Before fully committing to his construction career, he answered a different call to service. In 2002, Stoeckman made the courageous decision to enlist in the Army National Guard. He went on to serve for 20 years, retiring as a First Sergeant, a role in which he advised commanders, helped shape strategic plans, and developed a deep understanding of leadership, resource management and mission execution.
Today, he brings that same discipline, foresight and commitment to his work at PCL. His military experience continues to inform his leadership style, enabling him to anticipate challenges, align team efforts with broader project goals, and foster a culture of accountability and growth.
Throughout his career at PCL, Stoeckman has led a wide range of projects spanning manufacturing, clean rooms, laboratories, research facilities, higher education, hospitality, health care and data centers. While each project holds its own unique importance, the Altru Hospital project in Grand Forks, North Dakota stands out as a highlight of his construction career.
This $370 million healthcare facility, completed in early 2025, stands as a testament to the strength of teamwork, leadership and strategic execution. Stoeckman and his team delivered this project ahead of schedule on an active hospital campus, all while meeting budget expectations and maintaining an impeccable safety record: over 1.75 million worker hours without a single recordable injury. Perhaps most importantly, the hospital’s completion had an immediate and lasting impact on the surrounding rural community.
According to Stoeckman, PCL’s strength lies in its people. The company’s employee ownership model fosters a culture of accountability, pride and performance, driving both personal investment and project success. It’s this culture that makes PCL a top choice for both employees and clients alike.
