Matt Glassman has experienced both sides of a blueprint—first designing buildings as an architect and now bringing those designs to life as a design manager for PCL. Glassman also works as a senior manager in PCL’s Integrated Construction Technology division, a group that provides operational engineering support and technology solutions to enhance PCL’s construction projects.

After spending nine years in architecture, Glassman was inspired to transition to construction by a college friend and colleague who introduced him to PCL. Today, he works primarily on design-build and alternate delivery projects, acting as a crucial link between the design team, the PCL team and the owner.

Glassman values the unique perspective his career path has given him. He understands that designers and builders often see different sides of a project, and he feels fortunate to have lived in both worlds. In his current role, he works to bridge that gap, fostering communication and collaboration across teams.

Creative problem-solving and technical precision have always been at the core of Glassman’s approach, traits that first drew him to architecture. His passion for technology began early in his career with the implementation of 3D modeling and other innovations, tools that are now standard in the industry. This expertise made his transition to PCL seamless, as the company was pushing to innovate with newer technologies he already knew well. He quickly became a resource for driving innovation and moving the needle forward.

Glassman credits PCL’s employee ownership model for fostering a collaborative environment with less internal competition and more focus on common goals. He also appreciates the company’s commitment to his professional development, which has been a key factor in his decade-long tenure.
