As a business development manager for PCL’s North Florida Buildings region, Olivia Frick plays a pivotal role in cultivating new relationships with clients, subcontractors, architects and engineers, while also strengthening existing partnerships. Frick also works closely with PCL’s preconstruction team to identify target opportunities and shape the approach to winning new work. Her dual focus of external outreach and internal alignment enables her to bridge strategic planning with market-facing initiatives, and position PCL for continued growth and success in the Florida market.
Her path to this role began at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction. Initially drawn to engineering, she chose Georgia Tech for its wide array of technical programs. When a professor helped to introduce her to the possibilities within the field of construction, an immediate passion for being part of the building process was sparked.
After spending over 15 years managing construction projects of varying sizes across the country, Frick discovered that her true passion lay in the early stages of project development. She found the process of engaging with clients, architects and engineering partners to be especially energizing and fulfilling, which led her to transition fully into business development. Her deep project experience, combined with a natural talent for relationship-building and strategic thinking, made the shift a seamless and impactful one. Today, she leverages that background to help shape opportunities from the ground up, aligning client needs with PCL’s capabilities and vision.
For Frick, working at PCL has been a deeply rewarding experience, shaped by the company’s culture of warmth, collaboration and support. Across every department, region and leadership level, she has found a genuine sense of camaraderie and teamwork. In an industry often defined by high-pressure environments, tight schedules and closely managed budgets, the ability to work alongside people who truly enjoy and respect one another makes a significant difference.
Frick believes PCL’s strength is its vast network of resources, ranging from top-tier talent and advanced technology to a deep well of institutional knowledge. What truly sets PCL apart, though, is its employee ownership model. As an employee-owned company, every team member has a personal stake in the success of each project. This fosters a culture of accountability, pride and excellence, and team members show up to deliver results that reflect their own commitment and integrity. For clients, this means working with a team that’s not just professionally committed but personally invested.
Outside of her role at PCL, Frick is deeply engaged in several organizations, including the Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida District Council. She recently completed a two-year term as the District Council Chair, serving as the volunteer leader for the organization at the local level. Through ULI, she has found a dynamic network of developers, contractors and architects collaboratively addressing regional and systemic challenges. Frick is also a passionate supporter of Feeding Northeast Florida, a local branch of the Feeding America network.
