The combined construction of 10 solar projects across Ontario make up industry-leader Recurrent Energy’s Borealis solar portfolio. The connected projects, completed within four months of each other, produce a total of 71.5 megawatts of alternating current (AC) energy and 98.01 megawatts of direct current (DC) energy.
Boasting nearly 400,000 solar modules, the entire portfolio generates enough energy to power more than 13,300 homes in Ontario each year.
Development and operation of the projects offered their respective communities opportunities for local economic growth and employment. These projects created more than 1,600 jobs across multiple sectors including local manufacturing, engineering and construction. Ontario residents accounted for 98% of all construction hours worked across the portfolio.
