Laurel Village, a residential learning community located on the Colorado State University (CSU) campus, provides housing for students in two residence halls and a student collaboration center, The Pavilion. The village was built on a five-acre site in the middle of the active CSU campus, where site security and public/student safety were constant priorities.  

The 200,000-square-foot residence halls provide 615 beds in 408 resident units, and they include classroom and study areas for the College of Natural Sciences academic program. The residence halls are a wood frame, concrete podium structure with a brick, stone, stucco, metal panel, and glazing exterior. The residence halls received LEED Gold certification. 

Centered in the middle of the village, the 11,000-square-foot Pavilion provides lounges, game rooms, classroom and office space, an art gallery, and The Spoke, a bike repair shop for Laurel Village residents. The Pavilion is a cross-laminated timber structure with a stone, glazing, and metal panel exterior. Key project elements include passive heating and cooling systems within the katabatic tower and trombe walls, a sloped green roof rising from the performance green, and a living green wall. The Pavilion is the first project on the CSU campus to receive LEED Platinum certification.
