The Westside Produced Water Plant filters produced water from the Cymric oil field in central California. Produced water is a byproduct of oil production containing leftover hydrocarbons, minerals and other contaminants, which make the water unfit for human, animal or plant use. The Westside Plant filters these contaminants, making the water suitable for further reuse in oil production.

In the past, there were environmental issues with endangered species on the project site that required a mitigation plan. For this project, the entire site was fenced off and we adhered to the client’s requirements, including daily inspections and documentation of endangered species in the area. PCL's industrial fabrication shop prefabricated the piping which allowed us to meet a more aggressive schedule.

With production increasing faster at Cymric than at any other field in California, the plant offers an important resource for oil extraction in the region.
