The Enterprise Ethylene Export Facility resides in an existing development connected to multiple ethylene pipes and serves as a trade hub and open market, shipping the product offshore. BPC, a joint venture between Black & Veatch and PCL, was awarded the EPC contract to complete the new terminal in Morgan’s Point, Texas.
PCL was charged with site construction of the facility which included one train capable of processing 255,000 pounds per hour of ethylene, one 53,000 cubic meters double walled storage tank, and ship loading capabilities of 1 million tons/hr. Additionally, PCL’s scope included site works, underground firewater piping, blast proof facilities, craft parking and laydown. In all, PCL executed over 1,100,000 workhours on the site, without a Lost Time Incident.
The JV project was completed successfully and received multiple awards including the ABC Excellence in Construction Award and was recognized as an “ENR Best Project.”
