How do you renovate a lobby, reception and restaurant at the heart of a luxury hotel with zero impact on guest experience? With impeccable planning, execution and delivered as if wearing a virtual tuxedo!  Working to revitalize the storied Royal York Hotel in downtown Toronto, PCL’s highly skilled Special Projects team overcame complex existing site challenges to deliver this multi award-winning fast track project in time for the hotel’s 90th anniversary celebrations.

With PCL, speed does not compromise quality for client or guests. Luxury finishes including walnut and aged bronze cladding, solid wood coffered ceilings and stone flooring were seamlessly installed all while hotel operations continued uninterrupted.

At one time the tallest building in Toronto, the 28-storey hotel that first opened in 1929 features a 23-foot bronze clad bar with a stunning double-faced clock. Along with this timeless feature, traditional chandeliers were replaced with contemporary bronze updates integrating a modern twist to complement the ornately detailed heritage wood ceiling.
