The Heritage Valley Park and Ride simplifies transit-to-transit connections, accommodates cycle and pedestrian links into adjacent neighborhoods and connects residents to public transportation.

We provided the client with value engineering and sustainability opportunities, resulting in a project savings of $2.8 million. These cost-savings were achieved by maintaining the original number of parking stalls and volume of asphalt paving, while revising the precast bridging slabs to cast-in-place versions and revising the planter seating wall to cast-in-place.

Careful planning and strategic schedule management allowed the team to deliver the project on time despite losing 70 days to inclement weather over two construction seasons. Mitigation activities included completing work early, scheduling 12-hour shifts and bringing in additional crew support. Heritage Valley Park and Ride is now home to a new transit center, bus loop, a 1,100-stall parking lot and more.
