From a technical institute to mental health facility, the Kaiser Sylmar medical office building went through the ultimate transformation. The existing 35,785-square-foot, single-story tilt-up concrete office building now houses 59 mental health and wellness provider offices.

With patient privacy top of mind, we ensured a variety of acoustic measures were designed and built into the facility. Multiple exits, access controls and a separate secure parking area for staff provide additional security.

Although the building no longer hosts technology lessons, the facility keeps its tech roots intact. Kaiser Permanente first introduced its complete ‘Reimagining Ambulatory Design’ (RAD) program to the facility, which includes digital membership, express check-in, mobile physician stations, tele-communications and interactive waiting areas.
