The reactor repair on the hydro-processing unit at the NWR Sturgeon Refinery came down to one thing: schedule. The client needed the unit to be operational on a tight timeline and for the work to be executed with a high level of safety and quality.

Melloy met all these goals, bringing in manpower to run 2 shifts for both days and nights, operating non-stop for 34 days and shaving 8.5 days off the schedule. In addition, we were able to source experienced and qualified welders from other Melloy projects to assist on the turnaround, setting high quality standards for the work.

This job was another example of PCL’s longstanding partnership with NWR and how we remain committed to the success of the Sturgeon Refinery, both from the initial build and through our continued work on the site.
