Did you know: the international air terminal building is the closest settlement to the North Magnetic Pole? The 6,000-square-foot facility includes administration offices, ticket counters, a gift shop, passenger holding areas and freight handling areas. In addition to serving the community of Resolute Bay, it also acts as a staging terminal for exploration work near the North Pole.

Working on a tight four-month schedule and relying heavily on the area’s single annual sealift, we found shipments to be a tremendous challenge throughout the project. To mitigate the obstacles, we preplanned the entire project and determined the exact weight of the building. All items were known ahead of time to ensure all materials required were crated and shipped on time.
