Ridgefield Solar is a 12.84 megawatt solar photovoltaic facility that spans 78 acres. After grading and removal of minor vegetation, we installed project facilities, including solar panels and underground cabling. The solar panels are mounted off the ground in rows with a fixed-tilt angle facing the south to catch the sun’s rays and generate direct current (DC) electricity.
Despite working throughout the winter, we completed the facility and connected it to the grid on time. Ridgefield Solar, a part of the Ontario Feed-in-Tariff program, is one of four facilities we have delivered for Penn Energy Renewables. Together, we’ve provided the local Indigenous and non-Indigenous community of Dunsford with clean energy.
