The former Louis Dreyfus Company’s grain elevator, purchased by Parrish & Heimbecker in 2019, became unable to keep up with current demand for receiving and loading grain between trucks and rail cars. Our agribusiness experts worked with Louis Dreyfus to install a new rail-loading system with an increased load-out capacity, all while the grain terminal remained in operation.
First, we removed the existing bulk weigh scale and rail load-out conveyor and spout. We then installed a new supporting steel tower and conveyor bridge as well as the new enclosed conveyor, bulk weigh scale and rail load-out spot. The upgrade involved removing existing structural steel and procuring and installing new steel, installing electrical and mechanical equipment and fabricating and installing all necessary spouting and gating.
