Education provides the backbone of a vibrant and productive community, and PCL believes that every child deserves access to a quality education. PCL employees volunteer their time to enhance the education of current and future generations.

The recruitment and development of college students is crucial to the continued growth of PCL’s operations in the United States. Under the PCL US College Program, interns have the opportunity to receive special recognition and a monetary award. Each district office selects a Top Intern of the Year based on the student’s ability to exceed expectations in his/her role, exhibit passion for the industry, and demonstrate the potential to be a future leader at PCL. The Top Intern of the Year receives a cash bonus of $1000 (net) and advances for consideration for the overall US Student of the Year award.  The US Student of the Year is selected by the president and COO of US Operations and receives a trip to PCL’s US Head Office in Denver to meet with the executive team.

PCL’s educational outreach efforts include:
  • supporting school readiness at early childhood learning centers;
  • mentoring students at after school programs;
  • teaching the latest construction technology at colleges throughout the United States.
In addition to PCL’s volunteer efforts and financial donations to support learning, the company also matches individual donations to higher education institutions up to $500 per year, per employee.
