Kapolei, HI (May 4, 2015) – Nordic PCL Construction, Inc., in conjunction with DeBartolo Development, LLC has begun construction of Ka Makana Ali'i, a 1.4 million-square-foot mixed-use center coming to West O'ahu.

“We are pleased to be a part of bringing this premier shopping center to the people of Hawai'i especially since the economic recession nearly ended this development back in 2010,” said Glen Kaneshige, president of Nordic PCL. “Ka Makana Ali'i will provide the local community and visitors with extensive entertainment and employment opportunities for generations to come.”
As the first regional mall to be built on O'ahu in more than three decades, Ka Makana Ali'i will provide Hawai'i’s fastest growing community with more than 150 shopping and dining options, a movie theater, two hotels and Leadership in Energy and Design (LEED) certified office space. Located on 67 acres of land leased from the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, the project will bring the first Macy’s to West O'ahu and serve as the home of Hawai'i’s first Hampton Inn & Suites.
The first phase of Ka Makana Ali'i is scheduled to be completed in late 2016.
