Denver – Buildings Construction

Fort Collins, CO (January 22, 2015) – PCL Construction has been awarded the construction of three student housing buildings for what will be known as Aggie Village at Colorado State University.

The CSU Aggie Village project includes the construction of three student housing buildings that hold 972 beds, as well as community and academic space. The nearly-400,000 square-foot spaces comprise five levels above grade and one below grade. Complex features will include an Intercultural Connections Community, a Grand Courtyard with outdoor programming space for 500 people, and office space for Division of Student Affairs programs.
The team is aiming to obtain a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold Certification, which recognizes best-in-class building practices such as water and energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and green infrastructure. Several sustainability features are being pursued by this project, including bike parking for 80 percent of residents, a car-share program on-site, and water-efficient landscaping throughout the complex.
This is the second contract PCL has been awarded by CSU. In 2014 PCL completed the university’s 615-bed residence hall complex and pavilion building known as Laurel Village. The two residence halls received LEED Gold certification, while the pavilion building received LEED Platinum.
“PCL is pleased to once again work with CSU,” said Frank Terrasi, district manager for PCL. “We are excited to help the university continue to provide its students with a safe and productive learning environment.”
Construction of the $87.5 million project began in January 2015 with completion scheduled for September 2016.
