Phoenix, AZ (October 10, 2014) – PCL Construction continued its generous support for two local organizations that help feed, and build homes for, the less fortunate in Phoenix and central Arizona. On Friday October 3, PCL presented a check for $20,000 to Habitat for Humanity, and donated another $20,000 to St. Mary’s Food Bank.
PCL regional vice president Tom O’Donnell said, “We’re proud to once again be able to support St. Mary’s Food Bank. For the past six years, PCL has shown our commitment to our community both with donations and our employees volunteering at the food bank.” The money will help feed the needy in the Phoenix metro area.
“Sponsoring home builds and volunteering time on building sites have also been staples for several years for our employees,” said PCL’s district manager Mike McKinney. “Helping with the cost of building and renovating affordable homes for families in our region is very fulfilling for PCL Construction.”
“We are thrilled to have partners like PCL and we appreciate their continued support,” said Roger Schwierjohn, president and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona. “With this generous donation, we will be better able to serve low-income families in need of simple, decent, and affordable housing and assist other low-income homeowners with home repair services.”
Since September 2013, PCL Construction has donated over $41,000 to Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona. The support for St. Mary’s goes back to 1992; PCL has donated over $73,000 to the organization during that time.
