PCL Construction Honored with CMAA Award for CSU San Marcos – The Sports Center

San Diego, CA  (April 29, 2016) – PCL Construction was recently recognized by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) with the prestigious Project Achievement Award for California State University (CSU) San Marcos – The Sports Center in San Diego.
The design-build, 26,000-square-foot, multipurpose facility will be used by the University for a variety of sports and other campus events. The building includes a gymnasium with 1,350 bleacher seats, locker room and shower areas, coaches’ offices, team rooms, lobby area featuring a “wall of fame,” and an outdoor public courtyard.

“PCL is pleased to work on another successful project with CSU San Marcos,” said Aaron Wiehe, vice president and area manager for PCL Construction. “We are excited to provide the University with a new home for the Cougars.”

The awards program recognizes outstanding achievement in the practice of construction management and is designed to promote professionalism and excellence in the management of the construction process. Awards are given to construction management practitioners who reflect this mission.

PCL was honored with the award at the annual awards banquet on April 28 at the Marriott Marquis in San Diego.
