Denver, CO (November
28, 2016) – PCL Construction Services, Inc. has been selected to provide
construction management/general contractor services by the City of Boulder for
a new Civic Area Park and Plaza in the heart of Boulder.
Civic Area Master Plan includes transforming the Civic Area into a unique place
that reflects the community’s shared values and its diversity, providing space
and programs for people to gather, recreate, eat, learn, deliberate, and
innovate. As part of the plan, construction at the Park will include rain
gardens and wetland buffers, re-routing of the existing bike and pedestrian
paths, unique hardscapes such as recycled cordwood benches and large boulder
seating, and planting areas.
Street Spine and Signature Bridge areas will be replaced and realigned in two
sections – one over a rain garden and a longer section over Boulder Creek.

Construction of the nearly
$7 million project began in November 2016 with completion scheduled for the fourth
quarter of 2017.
