Vancouver, British Columbia (December 15, 2015) – The PCL family of companies is pleased to announce that PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. has been named the preferred proponent on the $109 million, design-build Whistle Bend Continuing Care Facility project in the Yukon Territory.
“This project represents a significant investment in public infrastructure,” said Todd Craigen, vice president and district manager of PCL Constructors Westcoast. “We are proud to have been selected and look forward to delivering this project succesfully to our client.”
The scope of work for includes the design and construction of a 150-bed facility with sufficient support space to eventually sustain 300 beds; the provision for underground (150 stalls) and surface (30 stalls) parking; and site landscaping and secured, outdoor, private landscaped areas.
The new facility will be built on a 10-acre serviced “greenfield” site in Whistle Bend, an emerging community approximately 15 minutes north of PCL’s design-build Whitehorse General Hospital Expansion project. Construction will begin in May 2016 and finish by the end of 2017.
