San Diego, CA  (March 23, 2016) – PCL Construction is honored to have been given the Outstanding Community Contributor Award for the Cesar Chavez Parking Structure in San Diego.

The design-build, four-level, cast-in-place parking structure includes 320 parking spaces and 4,000 square feet of rooftop-level solar panels, and several large exterior murals. It serves the Cesar Chavez Continuing Education Center, which brings hundreds of working-class students into the Barrio Logan community of San Diego every day.

“PCL strongly values giving back to the communities where we live and work,” said Aaron Wiehe, vice president and area manager in San Diego. “We are proud to support Barrio Station and help capture the personality and culture of the community in this meaningful project.”

PCL was honored with the award at the Barrio Station’s 46th Anniversary Benefit Dinner on March 3, 2016.
