Paul Douglas receives City of Edmonton
Community Service award from Mayor Don Iveson.

“Paul took the helm of PCL in 2009, in the midst of the financial crisis,” says Michael Ganley, editor of Alberta Venture. “He has grown it to become the largest, most powerful contractor in the country, with $8 billion in revenue, and it’s changing the face of the country.”
The annual Business Person of the Year luncheon, where Mr. Douglas will be the keynote speaker, takes place Thursday, January 21, 2016, at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton.
Mr. Douglas was also recently honored with a City of Edmonton Salute to Excellence Award in the category of Community Service. His volunteer work with Celebrate Edmonton, the University Hospital Foundation, and the Edmonton International Airport Business Advisory Committee were just a few of Mr. Douglas’s community initiatives recognized, along with his philanthropic efforts associated with PCL’s annual United Way Campaign, PCL being the largest supporter in the Alberta Capital Region.
“I am extremely humbled to be recognized for both of these prestigious honors,” said Mr. Douglas. “I can honestly say, though, that neither of these would be possible without the support and talented team we have within our PCL family. It is their hard work that contributes to accolades such as these, and I thank them all for that.”
Mr. Douglas was presented his Community Service award by Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson at City Hall on November 23, 2015.
