Edmonton, Alberta (July 18, 2019) – PCL Construction’s Edmonton-area companies are pleased to receive United Way’s “Thanks a Million” award. This title goes to leading corporate and labor organizations in Canada whose employees help to raise more than $1 million in support of UW Centraide’s work in local communities.

PCL has been partnered with UW for 50 years, and this is the 10th consecutive time that the Edmonton-area companies have achieved “Thanks a Million” status.

“We really wanted this year’s campaign to be a special one as it was our 50th year supporting United Way. I believe we achieved that and once again am so proud of all our efforts,” said Brent Sharpe, PCL’s 2018 campaign chair. “Thank you to all the PCLers who gave generously to help us fight poverty in the region.”

Organizations like PCL set the standard, says Dan Clement, interim president and CEO of United Way Centraide Canada, and allow United Way to continue its work toward “realizing a vision where everyone in every community has the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
