Edmonton, AB (May 31, 2018) – PCL Construction is proud to
be a supporter of the Skills
Canada Alberta Competition at the Edmonton EXPO
Centre May 31 – June 1 and an official sponsor of the Skills Canada National Competition
at the Edmonton EXPO Centre June 4 – 5.
PCL representatives will be at both events to inform Canada’s
brightest young tradespeople about how they can pursue a career in construction
and to introduce them to the PCL family of companies.
Students at both the Skills Canada Alberta Competition and the Skills
Canada National Competition will be able to test their skills at PCL’s
Try-A-Trade booths. A crane simulator, electrical challenge, and Jenga game
will encourage students to use important coordination, problem-solving, and
building skills that are integral to a career in the construction industry.
PCL contributes $7,500 annually to the Skills Canada Alberta
Provincial Competition and $15,000 to the Skills Canada National Competition.
PCL’s five-year involvement with Skills Canada encourages youth to discover
rewarding careers and supports the future of the skilled trades and technology
