Edmonton – Buildings & Civil Construction

Edmonton, Alberta (June 17, 2015) – The PCL family of companies is pleased to announce that Rob Otway, vice president and district manager at Edmonton Buildings, will represent the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) on the board of the Construction Resources Initative Council (CRIC). The CRIC is dedicated to changing the way that the construction industry deals with waste.

“It’s an honour to be involved with the industry’s sustainability efforts at this level,” said Otway. “PCL believes it is important to consider sustainability at every stage in the construction process, and I believe my involvement with the CRIC will provide us the opportunity to have an industry-wide impact.”
Rob is responsible for PCL’s Sustainability Initiative in Canada, and his appointment to the waste reduction council draws on his strengths in this area, as well as his 21 years of experience with PCL. Rob is also a director of the CCA and of the Canadian Green Building Council, which oversees administration of the Leadership in Energy and Enviromental Design (LEED) certification of commercial buildings.
The CRIC is a non-profit organization led by the building industry, founded to drive change in the way that the industry thinks about and deals with building resources and waste. The council’s mission is to support, develop and implement initiatives that elimate the concept of building waste.
