This four-level, state-of-the-art addition to the Brandon General Hospital is a great benefit not only to the growing city of Brandon, but also to surrounding communities. The project was completed in four phases: construction, decanting, renovation, and conversion. The resulting 15,000-square-foot new facility and 34,000-square-foot renovation are home to, among other things, a new pharmacy, ambulatory care clinics, new operating suites, and a neonatal ICU. A glass atrium and two interior walkways connect the new addition to the existing building.
PCL’s client needed the hospital to remain fully operational during construction, which offered the project team an opportunity to work even more closely with the owner and subtrades. The result was a project completed with minimal disruption to the surrounding hospital, and a satisfied client.
