The Humber College Learning Resource Commons (HCLRC) is the heart of the College’s North Campus in Toronto. The new 264,000-square-foot facility fits into a challenging site, connecting several existing buildings and knitting together portions of several diverse programs to form a new and singular hub. Components include a welcome centre; registrar, expanded space for student and campus services, a library and information commons, student support centre, the office of the Dean of Students/Student Life, and ancillary support and IT services.
The project required the selective renovation and reorganization of existing Humber College facilities and has resulted in a reordering of the base circulation patterns of a cluster of buildings at the campus centre. This major project welcomes visitors, staff, and students with the appropriate level of ceremony while supporting and furthering the brand of Humber College.
