Over five months, the Special Projects Division completed a 7,000-square-foot building renovation on two floors of the Park Square Tower. The renovation included the demolition and construction of new residential suites, common corridors, and mechanical and electrical revisions.
Tenant occupation of the lower suites created a challenge for the project team, as the team had to account for intrusions of construction noise. PCL overcame this challenge through detailed planning and scheduling with tenants to ensure roof work was done at times that caused the least disturbance.
PCL provided additional cost-saving solutions to the client by changing the engineered details on the pergola bracings so they fastened differently to the roof. This change reduced the need for ceiling patch work and resulted in approximately $15,000 in savings for the owner. Thanks to the project team’s detailed planning and innovative thinking, the project finished on schedule and on budget.
