The Surface Plant Concrete Construction - Lalor project is a zinc, copper, and gold mine in Snow Lake, Manitoba. PCL worked directly for the owner on this project and performed the drilling, blasting, and concrete foundations for the new hoist house, collar, and air -ventilation plenum.
As with most mining projects, maintaining schedule was critical for the client. Over the duration of the eight-month schedule, the project team worked a minimum of six 10-hour days per week, ramping up to seven 12-hour days. Through fair and reasonable dealings, the project team was able to overcome challenging rock conditions and incorporate the necessary design changes. PCL completed the project in accordance with the owner’s schedule, and with absolutely zero rework.
