Located on the third floor of the Mall of America, the Crayola Experience is a 60,000-square-foot, hands-on attraction that creates a collaborative experience where its 400,000 yearly visitors learn, create, and explore the world of color. The attraction includes 25 interactive activities, a theatre, two-story indoor climber, café, party rooms, office, and the Crayola Store, containing the world’s largest selection of Crayola products and unique souvenirs.
One of the most popular features of this attraction is the Live Factory Show, which showcases how crayons were initially made compared to production today. Crayola shipped vintage manufacturing equipment, dating back to the early 1900s, from their original facility in Easton, Pennsylvania, to recreate the historical processes. PCL assisted with the installation and preparation so this antique equipment would be fully operational for the presentations.
Established in 1903, Crayola is one of the oldest, best-known, and most respected brands in the world. This is the second Crayola Experience to be built in the United States; the first is located at Crayola’s headquarters in Easton, Pennsylvania.
