Located in the Forest Hill community of Toronto, the Heathview is the first new purpose-built high-rise residential complex to be built in the area in over forty years. With a unique condo-quality design, these low- and high-rise buildings provide a luxurious alternative to condominium living that rivals the competition. The complex features two 31-storey towers, a 7-storey podium, and a 2-storey amenity building. Included in the amenities building is a billiards lounge and fitness centre. These structures contain 600 first-class units situated over three levels of underground parking.
A prominent commitment that the client intended for the building was sustainability, so PCL designed the project to meet LEED Gold certifications. The complex includes water-saving fixtures, a natural rainwater containment system for irrigation, and a green roof system to reduce heat load and lower energy consumption. The interiors contain heat-recovery units and improved indoor air quality owing to the use of low VOC materials during construction. The Heathview also offers on-site e-charging stations for hybrid vehicles.
During construction, the project was honoured as the 2015 Rental Development of the Year by the Federation of Rental-Housing Providers of Ontario. It was recognized specifically as one of Ontario’s top landlords and property managers for excellence in the rental-housing industry.
