Boasting an impressive 28-year career dedicated to water infrastructure, Richard Hewitt oversees the national operations of PCL’s Civil Infrastructure division, overseeing successful water projects in Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Florida. Under his leadership, the team continuously delivers top-quality water facilities that not only meet immediate needs but leave a lasting, positive impact on the communities PCL works in.
After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in civil engineering, Hewitt joined PCL in 2000 as a project engineer on the $12 million South Bay Grove Avenue Pump Station in San Diego, Calif.
Among the highlights of his career is his involvement in the $25 million Progressive Design-Build Boynton Beach Water Treatment Plant. Hewitt was integral to the operations team, addressing the potable water needs of Boynton Beach's expanding population and business community, and enhancing the reliability of long-term water supply.
Currently, Hewitt is at the helm of the $165 million New Treasure Island Wastewater Treatment Plant in San Francisco, Calif., poised to significantly influence the region's wastewater treatment capacity. Under Hewitt’s leadership, this state-of-the-art facility will treat 1.3 million gallons of water per day and minimize waste by reusing disinfected recycled water.
As Vice President of PCL's Civil Infrastructure division, Hewitt champions a leadership style that fosters empowerment, teamwork and collaboration. He is dedicated to nurturing talent and enabling team members to achieve their full potential. This focus on supportive leadership helps not only to exceed client expectations but also strengthens the collective capability of his team.
Hewitt's primary goal is to uphold PCL's status as a leader in the civil infrastructure market by continuously demonstrating a commitment to excellence and innovation.
