DENVER, Colo. (Oct. 23, 2023) – PCL Construction has been recognized on the 2023 Engineering News-Record (ENR) Regional Best Projects lists. Three projects on the ENR Mountain States list and two projects on the ENR California list earn this accolade.
“We're honored to have our projects recognized in the renovation and restoration, higher education and research, and water and environment categories. These accomplishments reflect PCL’s commitment to delivering outstanding results for our clients and communities,” said Deron Brown, president and chief operating officer for PCL’s U.S. Operations.
An independent jury of industry leaders in design and construction from various regions evaluated the projects on factors such as safety, teamwork, innovation, quality, and contribution to the community or industry. The five regional best projects include:
Judi’s House, JAG Institute is the only community-based nonprofit bereavement center for children and families in the Metro Denver area. This design-build project consisted of a two-story, 26,500 square-foot facility including on-site parking, play, art and group therapy rooms, community education and workforce training spaces and a backyard garden for outdoor therapy and gatherings. PCL served as a community activator to garner financial support for the project and the entire budget was sourced through philanthropic support. PCL, along with project subcontractors, donated 12% of the project costs, allowing Judi’s House to continue offering free grief counseling services to children and families. The project received the Award of Merit in the Higher Education/Research category.
