DENVER (September 19, 2025) – PCL Construction Services, Inc., in partnership with real estate development firm Columbia Ventures, broke ground on Summit House, a $117 million student housing development at Metropolitan State University (MSU) Denver. Located near downtown Denver, this project marks the first-ever on-campus student housing development for an institution historically known as a commuter school.

Situated along Denver’s Auraria Parkway, Summit House will span 200,000 square feet and include over 550 student beds, along with a dynamic Classroom-to-Career Hub designed to connect students with potential employers and career pathways.

The Summit House is designed to foster a vibrant, community-focused atmosphere in an urban setting. With two levels of concrete and ten levels of mass timber, this 12-story structure will stand as one of Colorado’s tallest mass timber buildings.

“We are honored to be at the forefront of this pivotal shift, marking an important step in shaping sustainable, forward-thinking academic spaces that will serve students and communities for generations to come,” said Mauricio Ramos, vice president and district manager at PCL.

The Summit House is set to open for students in 2027.
