WASHINGTON, D.C. – (May 6, 2026) - PCL Construction, Inc. has been awarded a $146 million progressive design-build contract by the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water) for construction and upgrades to Water Pumping and Storage Facilities.

Through early collaboration and phased design development, the progressive design-build model can help address challenges sooner, streamline the decision-making process and move construction forward more efficiently.

The Water Pumping and Storage Facilities project will help address aging infrastructure and enhance system resiliency. By increasing capacity, the improvements will strengthen long-term reliability and allow DC Water to continue to deliver safe, reliable drinking water.

The project includes the design and construction of improvements to two potable water pumping stations and two water storage reservoirs. The scope also includes upgrades to the Anacostia 3rd High Pressure Zone, along with associated piping and valves.

Substantial completion is expected for March 2031.
