The project includes a hidden speakeasy, enhancements to the pool environment, and modernization of meeting spaces.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – (April 14, 2026) – The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, the cornerstone of Scottsdale’s vibrant Kierland district, has announced a multi-phase renovation, marking one of the most significant transformations in the resort’s history. The comprehensive project includes a reimagined arrival experience and lobby bar, an expansion of its iconic Scotch Library, a new hidden speakeasy, enhancements to its expansive pool environments, and a full modernization of its meeting spaces.
The Kierland Commons Hospitality Cornerstone
Since the district’s inception, The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa has served as a foundational destination, offering visitors an elevated leisure and group experience unlike any other Arizona property. Branded as The New Westin Kierland Experience, the evolution blends the scale and amenities of a grand resort with thoughtfully curated, intimate experiences that prioritize connection and social engagement.
“Hospitality renovations demand excellence at every level, from how the work is executed to how guests experience the property each day during construction,” said David Campbell, district manager of Phoenix Buildings for PCL Construction. “We’re proud to contribute to the next chapter of such an iconic destination. The Westin Kierland is a defining part of Scottsdale’s hospitality landscape, and we’re approaching this work with a clear goal: to elevate what guests love about the property while delivering a seamless experience throughout construction.”
A Reimagined Arrival
The redesigned lobby introduces a seamless arrival flow into a striking three-tier architectural lounge bar. Expansive outdoor views reveal an additional dynamic gathering space, further enhancing the resort’s established social destinations.
A Space as Distinguished as The Scotch Library Itself
The resort’s Scotch Library, renowned for housing one of the world’s largest and most exclusive collections of scotch, is being elevated and expanded to deliver a more immersive tasting experience in its own distinct space. New floor-to-ceiling cabinetry will showcase nearly 450 bottles in individual display lockers, creating an intimate one-of-a-kind Scotch room unlike anything available in Scottsdale or elsewhere.
An Exclusive Guest Experience Hidden in Plain Sight
New to the property is a discreet, design-forward speakeasy. Hidden behind a nondescript architectural feature, the intimate enclave will feature rich textures, ambient lighting, rare pours, and craft cocktails, offering guests a refined sense of discovery.
Kierland After Dark and Social Programming
Programming throughout the day and evening will feature curated wine and Scotch tastings, live music, and expanded social activations tied to Kierland After Dark, the resort’s signature event series that brings together guests and locals through music, cocktails, and open-air experiences. As the series grows, it reinforces the resort’s role not only as a place to stay, but as the social hub of the neighborhood setting the rhythm of the district after sunset. Antidote, the resort’s dynamic outdoor bar featuring the largest patio in Scottsdale, continues to serve as a high-energy gathering space, pairing elevated cocktails with open-air sports viewing and social programming.
An Elevated Pool Experience
Enhancements to the adults-only pool are now complete, introducing upgraded cabanas, refined seating, and a sophisticated atmosphere that balances serenity with subtle social energy. Later this fall, a newly renovated pool bar at the Adventure Pool will debut, adding a vibrant gathering point for families and groups, with additional experiential enhancements planned throughout the year.
A Modern Vision for Meetings & Events
The renovation also includes a full modernization of the resort’s three ballrooms and 45 meeting spaces, incorporating contemporary design and state-of-the-art technology. The updates ensure The Westin Kierland, featuring more than 200,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, remains a premier destination for conferences, celebrations, and corporate gatherings within one of Scottsdale’s most walkable and energetic districts. Grand in Scale. Intimate in Experience.
While the property delivers the amenities and presence of a large-scale destination resort, The New Westin Kierland Experience is intentionally designed to feel personal. Guests can move effortlessly between expansive pool environments and tucked-away cocktail spaces, from lively patios to quiet corners designed for conversation.
Distinct among Scottsdale’s luxury resorts, The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa is fully integrated into the heart of the Kierland district, offering walkable access to premier shopping, dining, and nightlife. Guests don’t simply stay near the energy – they are at the center of it.
“This evolution is about balance,” Ellis added. “We’re enhancing the scale of the resort while preserving the warmth and authenticity that have always defined Kierland. It’s a resort that feels both vibrant and personal and distinctly of this neighborhood.”
As the district continues to grow, The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa is shaping its next era while strengthening its position as one of Scottsdale’s most dynamic hospitality destinations.
