DENVER, Colo. (May 22, 2025) – PCL Construction Enterprises, Inc. has been named to Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) Top 400 Contractors list, ranking No.11 in the 2025 edition. The annual list ranks the 400 largest general contractors with a U.S. presence — both public and privately held — based on total construction revenue. PCL reported US$8.3 billion (CA$11.3 billion) in 2024 revenue, up from US$7.3 billion (CA$9.7 billion) in 2023 — a US$1 billion increase year-over-year.
“Being named a Top Contractor by ENR is a recognition of the dedication and expertise of our teams across the U.S,” said Deron Brown, PCL president and chief operating officer, U.S. operations. “As we mark 50 years of building in the U.S., we remain committed to delivering meaningful work in the communities we serve.”
Over the past year, PCL advanced its national growth strategy through several key developments and transformative projects:
- A new Buildings office in Phoenix brings PCL’s expertise in aviation, hospitality, commercial and retail development to one of the country’s fastest growing markets. The expansion builds upon the success of the company’s water and civil construction operations, which have thrived across the Southwest for more than 30 years.
- PCL’s work on the El Paso Pure Water Center—the first direct-to-distribution potable reuse project in the U.S.—sets a new standard for drought-resilient infrastructure. The advanced water purification facility will treat 10 million gallons of water per day that will undergo a multi-step purification process that goes beyond current drinking water quality standards.
- A new Manufacturing Center of Excellence capitalilzes on the growing investment in reshoring production to the U.S. and Canada. The Center of Excellence centralizes talent from across geographies under one fully integrated team ready to build across North America. The group greatly streamlines new plant facility planning, engineering, construction, and production start-up.
- PCL experienced tremendous success in the civic and government market across delivery models. The Southeastern Live Well Center, a critical community resource in San Diego, was reconigzed as ENR’s project of the year. This spring saw ribbon cuttings for the County of Orange’s Marine Way Campus, a design-build project that offers enhanced office space for essential health works, and the Clackamas County Courthouse, delivered through the collaborative public-private partnership (P3) model.
