TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 1, 2024) – PCL Construction Services, Inc. reached an important milestone in the development of the highly anticipated Encore Lot 12 mixed-use project with the installation of the first tower crane onsite. Positioned in the heart of Tampa’s Encore District, this achievement signals the start of vertical construction as the 20-story building begins to take shape. This project is set to provide valuable benefits to the community, including low-income medical service office spaces, an accessible grocery store within walking distance and market-rate housing. These elements aim to enhance the overall well-being of residents and foster a stronger, more connected community in Downtown Tampa.
“This milestone is a major step forward—or should I say upwards—and the team remains fully committed to driving this project to completion on schedule while delivering valuable benefits to the surrounding community,” shared Eric Nixon, PCL construction manager.
The Encore Lot 12 project encompasses the future of urban living, featuring a 646,842-square-foot mixed-use building that will redefine upscale living in the heart of the city. The ground floor will offer a convenient grocery store and a six-level parking garage, providing easy access for residents and visitors. The seventh floor will house a medical office space, catering to diverse healthcare needs, while the eighth floor will include a pool, pickleball court and other amenities for residents. The upper floors will feature market-rate apartments, creating a balanced blend of comfort and convenience throughout the 20-story building.
“We are proud to be working alongside PCL on this visionary project. The Encore Lot 12 project is part of a greater master-planned development, bringing a fresh sense of community to the downtown neighborhoods. We are working closely with their team to bring the vision to life for locals and families of all kinds,” said Michael Grill, director of construction at Aureate Development, LLC, which is a company driven by the vision of Dr. Kiran C Patel.
Since breaking ground in spring 2024, the project has made significant progress, with permitting, underground utility work and foundation work all advancing to reach the target completion date of fall 2026.
"The Encore Lot 12 project represents a significant development in the heart of Tampa. PCL is excited to contribute to this project and looks forward to seeing it come to fruition,” shared Rick Goldman, senior vice president of PCL’s Florida Buildings Group.
